Wayfinder Seasons Overview

What are Seasons in Wayfinder?

Seasons can be thought of as content drops for Wayfinder, somewhere between DLCs and full-fledged Expansions commonly seen in modern videogame titles. Wayfinder is a live service game that is proposed to continually evolve, introducing new storylines and locations, activities, and most importantly new playable Wayfinders.

Airship Syndicate has stated that Seasons are a vehicle for introducing new Wayfinder Characters into the game. Each Season will be thematically focused on that character, with events unfolding around them being molded into the overarching narrative, and activities and rewards reflecting the Season's theme.

What is included in each Season?

Each new Season of Wayfinder will include the following content:

  • A new playable Wayfinder.
  • New Weapons, including the featured Wayfinder's Signature Weapon.
  • New Locations to explore across the Highlands.
  • New Storylines centered on the Season's featured character, including new Quests and Events.
  • New Lost Zone challenges.
  • New Enemies and Bosses to face.

The above have been confirmed as the general type of content each Season will offer, but many more is likely to be added as development continues.

Season Duration & Battle Passes

Each Season in Wayfinder will last for approximately three months. While details are currently hazy, it appears the game will incorporate a Battle Pass system which will contain a variety of rewards themed around the Season's content, unlocking as players make progress in the season. The Battle Pass will have both basic and premium tiers which will either give players a head start towards obtaining the featured character, or unlock the character and their signature weapon immediately. The Battle Pass will also contain a large variety of rewards including Pets, Cosmetics, Housing Items and more.

Wayfinder's Battle Pass is also designed with respect to each players' time in mind. Once players purchase the current Season's Battle Pass, it will never expire, allowing them to explore it at their own pace, even after the Season is over.

Early Access & Founders Packs

The first Season of Wayfinder will debut with Early Access to the game, which is scheduled to go live in Summer 2023.

While Wayfinder is set to release as a Free-to-Play title for all audiences near the end of the year, it is being made available via Early Access for purchasers of a Founders Pack. Early access is an opportunity for players to see the game in its latest builds, take part in the community and help shape the game as it gets ready for full release.

The Founders Pack Program will allow the developers to put together the final pieces of the game while rewarding their most dedicated supporters. Founders Packs will be available in multiple tiers, allowing for player choice in their support of the game. Each Founders Pack will grant Early Access and will also include a variety of exclusive items such as Cosmetics, Pets, Mounts and more that will not be obtainable in any other way. Pricing and details are yet to be confirmed.
