Builds in Wayfinder are optimized combinations of various Weapons, Armor, Abilities, and other aspects of character customization geared towards specific playstyles and goals. As all Wayfinders in-game have pre-determined Abilities, it is likely that what Abilities a Wayfinder has will dictate which generic 'class' they would fill in an MMO group setting, and what Builds are going to be most effective with them.
